The Reverend Sue Wilson


The Reverend Sue Wilson has recently been appointed Priest-in-Charge of the Anglican Parish fo Maryborough. Reverend Sue was commissioned by Bishop Jonathan Holland at St Paul’s Church on 28 May 2015.

Reverend Sue trained at St Francis Theological College and obtained her Bachelor of Theology through the Brisbane College of Theology. She was ordained deacon at St John’s Cathedral Brisbane in February 2009 and priested in November of the same year.  Prior to ordination Sue was a primary school teacher firstly in Brisbane then later in Toowoomba.

After ordination Reverend Sue was placed as assistant curate at St Mark’s Warwick with the responsibility of the Parish of Killarney. This also included a twice-monthly service in NSW for the Legume Community Church.

After two years in Warwick, Reverend Sue was placed at the Parish of Cleveland as Associate Priest. As she told everyone, this entailed a move from the mountains to the sea, a sea change in fact. It also means that instead of going interstate to take church services she now goes overseas to Macleay Island and on some occasions to Russell Island.

Growing up in the Anglican Church, Reverend Sue was involved in all the usual activities such as Sunday School Teacher, Parish Council, Serving and some not so usual ones such as belonging to and leading the Church Boys Club and Christian Camps.Reverend  Sue has also had the privilege of helping in the training of Children’s Ministry Leaders in PNG.
